The customer (patient) d...I'm in the business. The customer (patient) does need to see the value in the economic exchange. That value is based on "What I'm paying" and "What I'm getting" I agree that we haven't done a good job of explaining the value of "what you're getting" (let alone "what you're paying')<br /><br />So yes better transparency and better information is (are?) key.<br /><br />Now as a consumer two things I note:<br />-I get a discount on premiums for my lifestyle. A great idea. I'd be open to getting a further discount based on certain preventatives but they would need to be few and of high value (i.e. flu shot)<br />-Though I presently have an HRA, I'm learning to appreciate the HSA concept. Yes the dollars that go to my health premium are simply "detoured" salary.
